I define Finnish weather forecast with one word – reliable. In summer, you can rely on it being almost always right. In winter, you can rely on the fact that whatever it says it is never sunny and nice. Mostly during winter the forecast promises clouds today and tomorrow and sunshine in about 3 days time. Every day. So you always have a little hope that in three days it won’t be so depressing 
Ok, enough raving about the sophisticated science of weather forecasting. When my father visited Finland during summer I asked Kati to swap family sessions. And though I really wanted to photograph Kati with her whole family, we ended up just the four of us – Kati, her daughter, me and my whining and completely unhappy son. Of course they promised sunny weather. Of course it was cloudy and gloomy. But we photographed anyway.
Meet Kati, a fellow photographer, beautiful, independent and successful woman, great mother and a good friend. And with her daughter they also make gorgeous models.

Remembering Italy – Niki Strbian Valokuvaus

Some time back I promised you few pics from our great family vacation in Italy. It was gorgeous and I must thank my great husband for organizing, well, pretty much the whole thing. It was the best holiday I have had in a long time. Even with the occassional holiday cloud and thousands of medusas taking over our bay. And since we had one set of grandparents with us, we also had a rare and valued opportunity to go out in the evening. And that’s just what we did.
Oh, we didn’t go anywhere far, just in case our little angles wake up and would want us, but being in the historical center of a small Italian town dating back to 15th century, we had a plenty of choices. Walked few minutes down a steep hill and we hit the first bar. A terrace, in fact. It was about 22:30. A waitress asked if we were going to eat. No. So sorry, she replied, the terrace is open exclusively for dining until 23:30, then we could come for a drink. Or we could sit on the wall (surrounding the terrace) on a fluffy pillow, have a drink and enjoy watching the passers-by. And that’s just what we did.
Gaia was a bar-tender in this place. I liked the little devils in her eyes since the first moment I saw her and I knew I had to photograph her. And guess what? That’s just what we did

Podmínky: Fotografování se bude odehrávat venku za každého počasí kromě deště. V případě deště se fotografování přesouvá na víkend 28.-29.11. Fotografuji nejvýše 5 lidí z nejužší rodiny během jednoho fotografování, další osoby za příplatek (200 Kč za osobu). Podmínkou je podepsání souhlasu s využitím fotografií pro účely propagace mojí práce (výstavy, můj web, blog atd.). Speciální nabídka pro novorozence (týká se čerstvých mimásků do 10-12 dnů), podrobnosti emailem. A pochopitelně se nabídka týká i portrétů nerodinných

Autumn. The weather is getting all gloomy and doomy with rain and darkness. I turn to my children. Sunshine in heart. I love you.
That’s exactly how this sweet family felt like – the boys could not decide who is going to play with their baby sister first. Well, she is not such a baby anymore, being one year old and all And she is soooooo cute, just a smiley little angel. Thank you for allowing me to photograph one Saturday morning of your life. The frost and obsolete maps could not have stopped us from having a great time together. And by the way, gorgeous home you have I only wish we could have taken some photos outdoors. But it was really too cold. We’ll do it next time, ok?
It all started with a lovely family that I photographed during last autumn. We had the best time together and they must have loved the photos because soon after I got a phone call.
Will I photograph her wedding, a beautiful female voice asked.
No, I am so sorry but I don’t photograph weddings. But I can refer my colleagues who do and are very good at wedding photography.
It took about 2 weeks to hear that honey-smelling voice again. Will I please photograph her wedding? Because it’s meant to be that way and because … (insert loads of compliments here).
Can I refuse after hearing loads of compliments from a beautiful voice? NO. And so I photographed the wedding. And I found out why is the wedding photography rightly compared to the job of air traffic dispatchers (minus the responsibility for thousands of lives, of course). It’s just so much STRESS. Nevermind me losing 5 kilos that day, here we go. La la lala, la la lala, la la lalaaaaaa laaaaa …. Congratulations W and N on your wedding, you are going to have the most amazing live together!
