They love their little princess.

Congratulations!! … We had fun, didn’t we? :D Loved meeting you… More pics any day, come back soon! And leave a comment or two for the lovebirds and wish them happiness forever and ever. :)

This is a blog post #100. I guess, it better be a good one. Except that I am sleep deprived and it’s after midnight and I can just about SEE the viruses marching across my keyboard every time I sneeze. I will do my best.

Actually, I don’t have to. This post is going to be great no matter what I write or do. It’s because of them. My awesome clients. A little girl, who was also sleep deprived and tired but unlike me calm and pleasant. ;) Her mother, beautiful, sexy , elegant and smart and much adoring her little treasure. The father, clearly belonging to rare species of Padre Fantastico and he was funny too!

You said you have been together for eons. But your love was as radiant and your comfort in each other’s presence as clear as if you were together mere months. Perhaps it’s been eons, but you are still in the honeymoon phase. :) You must have found the much-sought-after spell – a recipe for happiness. Admit it!

Actually, you don’t have to. You already showed me and I was there to capture it forever or at least until you loose the cd with your pics. :D So you better frame them! Enjoy your sneak peek. I am blessed to have met you…

And the little star of the day… Happy 1st birthday!

I must do it again (though I know it’s getting old). I so love my job! :D It again brought me to the most exceptional place where I meet people worth befriending. This family has booked a shoot with me while back and there was much anticipation and energy flowing both ways during the wait. Wasn’t it for the fact that they live in Hämeenlinna, I am sure we would have been hanging out as friends long time before the session. Given the distance and the (universally known) fact that my family prefers travelling to the south, geting to know each other had to wait till the officially booked date. But boy, did we click!

The shoot happened at the verge of and inside of Aulanko, a forestry area turned in spots into a beautiful park with ponds, romantic little alcoves scattered here and there, a stone gazebo and … and … and go see it for yourselves, will you? If you have not yet, or even then… All this was built by a wealthy foreigner, Hugo Standertskjöld, for a lady of his heart. This woman, much coldheartedly, never really appreciated his efforts and so he died old and alone and in his will gifted the whole area to the town of Hämeenlinna under one condition – it will always be free, it is eternally forbidden to require money to enter the park.

Ok, dry your tears, my dears. ;) You will need your sight clear to appreciate more beauty in the pictures below than the Aulanko scenery in the background. The fate has thrown my way the first doppleganger I met in real life. Mom of this family looks like a ……………. (insert a name of a Hollywood star, or better yet leave me a comment, if you dare to guess). Not only is she absolutely gorgeous, but also is a skilled pizza chef. ;) But one question keeps coming back… Are there more stars hidden unrecognized in Finnish homes? I am asking you: COME OUT! *thinking hard* Maybe I can wish even for specific names? Brad Pitt, anyone? Meryl Streep? Al Pacino? Taylor Lautner? Ok, I better stop, because this list can get real loooong. :D

Enjoy the pics and do leave a comment with your guess. You never know when you might win something …

They were not hungry. Not tired. Not cranky (even the dad was not!). They didn’t mind mosquitoes, cold and neverending “Just one more!”. They were prepared, bunch of outfits with them, ready to change any time and always having fun. They had loads of candy for the older girls (well done ;) ) and, well, breast makes milk always ready for the little one. And I love them. Because they were my friends. The 1st birthday is truly a remarkable occassion – and it deserves to be documented in the best possible manner! :)

I hope you will like these photos. How on earth am I going to fit 40+ amazing pics into one preview? :D

I have been claiming for years that I don’t know Finland outside of Helsinki. Ok, I exaggerate a little, but not too much. I know Espoo. And Klaukkala :) The travel gods must have heard my complaints and they have arranged bunch of little trips for me lately. This time I was going to visit Hyvinkää. With all gear loaded me and my beautiful assistent Irene we set off to the road. Arrived in time to snack on some Fazer chocolate with hazelnuts and check out the possible locations around our clients’ home. Since they lived at the edge of Hyvinkää, it was easy to find an old barn and a few of other nice places. Good plans… With five kids, two dogs and a rabbit, not that many location changes were going to happen! As we soon discovered. ;) Luckily this great family had a beautiful garden full of blossoming trees. You were great, I loved the challenge and I hope you will enjoy your sneak peek :) I always wanted a large family myself. You made me dream about it again!

Amazing what life has in stock for us sometimes. I went to photograph a pregnant colleague of my husband, a doctor/scientist from Turkey. Her mum, who arrived for the birth from a small village outside of Istanbul, came along to the shoot. At the end, just as the sun was setting behind a small patch of moss, this amazing lady graciously allowed me to take a portrait of her. She looked at me and a miracle happened. The sky opened, the earth cracked, the moss became a fire and through her eyes I walked into her soul. It felt cozy being there, her soul reminding me of a grand kitchen full of people talking over each other, with a grandmother knitting small woollen animal toys in the corner and one of the dogs secretly steeling a piece of sausage from the table. Nobody got angry at him, even when they noticed. I didn’t want to come back to the real world, but someone had to press a shutter.

You have marked my heart and I will never forget you. You are beautiful.

Me and kids left for holidays at my parents almost 3 weeks ago. Did you notice there have not been any updates and new posts? I promise to flood you now :) The holidays were great, thanx for asking. I would have died if it wasn’t for the volcano situation, because my sucky-rainy 1 week holidays were prolonged by seven beautiful sunny, warm and spring loaded days! And as we were missing Da Man, we decided not to rely on ash-wind lucky combination and we travelled by cars and ferries through Germany, Denmark and Sweden. The trip took us mere 4 days, but it has been much fun. We love travelling and the kids don’t hate it, what a win-win situation :) Pics will follow, but for now let me introduce you to this young beautiful lady, one of the Easter bunnies. You are stunning and I loved working with you!
