A friend that you know from my photos has been talking about Malena for a long time. That I must meet her and photograph her. People talk about other people they like but that doesn’t necessarily mean that I will like them, I thought. Right? Wrong! When I finally opened Malena’s blog Malenami I realized that I should have done that ages ago! Open it yourselves and you will see what I saw: A vibrant, life-loving, joyful, energetic and let’s not forget absolutely stunning woman who you want to be friends with the first second you lay your eyes on any of her photos (which are all taken by her awesomely talented husband Ante). Malena’s blog is unfortunately in Swedish, which is accidentaly one of the 17 languages that I don’t speak. But I can guess it’s about fashion and trends… (I am so good! Polyglot really… ) And packed with great images of Malena. Suddenly I CRAVED photographing this phenomenal lady.

Small problem was that she lives hundreds of kilometers from Helsinki and my family is willing to travel hours only to the direction of south. That got solved yesterday when she and her dearie hubby came down to Helsinki for their friends’ wedding (read a blog post on malenami.com about their travel, it does say one or two nice things about me, hihi). Despite minor difficulties in arranging our meeting (my hubby cancelled our nanny and my little son didn’t feel like letting mommy go to do her job) and despite the fact that there are more tunnels under Leppävaara’s trainstation that one would expect, we met and photographed and had SO MUCH FUN. We photographed Malena alone and also both lovebirds together in the BELOVED style. What a moving experience! Malena, you are a shining star and it’s been an honor to meet you and Ante. You are so in love and devoted to each other, it’s a blessing to be in your company. I wish we had the whole day together. A whole month actually… But all in a good time. We might just as well start travelling north this summer!
